ABOUT THE PIECE:
the lonelyness of Santa Claus by Fredrick Andersson is an intimate, meditative marimba duet. The composer intentionally writes in mostly soft dynamics, inserting wide spaces of nothing into lush harmonic content. The title is meant to invoke a quiet, sad atmosphere.
Both players will need a heightened sense of musicality and dramatic timing - it's the kind of piece that demands the audience be drawn in to pay close attention to every moment, or you'll lose them.
