VF Artist Alex Rudinger performs 'ADDICTIVE' by Kaz Rodriguez!
Notes from Alex:
"ADDICTIVE" was my closer at the Meinl Drum Festival. Unfortunately, during the performance, the recording got cut-off half way through the song (some kind of DAW malfunction the audio engineer was having). Since the multi-track audio for this piece was unusable, AND since this is my personal favorite from the set, I decided to do a video for it here at home. Thankfully, all the rest of the songs I played at Meinl Fest (with the exception of one other) were recorded fine with no issues. So needn't worry - there're plenty more Meinl Fest live videos that will be posted soon ;) !
I decided to try something different here & go for a slightly more natural/less-processed mix. Some of you have complained that my videos are often "over-processed", so I'm curious to hear what you all think of this mix. Minimal EQ & compression here - mostly just some leveling and that's it! Genuinely curious as to what you all prefer - feel free to comment below & tell me your thoughts! I personally prefer the slightly more "processed" sound in many of my other videos (all of my videos are natural drums, just usually mixed much more), but perhaps you all will enjoy this more natural mix. Interested to hear what you all think!
ADDICTIVE was written by my friend Kaz Rodriguez, & then I composed all of the drums. Along with the other track I played at the Meinl Fest by Kaz ("SHIFT"), it's one of my favorite pieces/compositions I've done in awhile.
